Meet Julian and Jon, Short Term Rental Experts

Hello, I’m Julian Sage. I’ve achieved financial freedom through short term rentals, and it’s my goal to show you how to do the same. My short term rental journey started when my wife and I rented out our basement on Airbnb. Then things really took off when I started a podcast called Short Term Rental Success Stories, where I shared the experiences of short term rental hosts who achieved financial success. In less than a year, thousands of people had already joined the community!

One of the short term rental hosts I reached out to was Jon Bell. I interviewed him on my podcast and learned that he had scaled from 0 to 24 rental properties in just 18 months, bringing in around $45,000 cash flow every month without owning any of the properties. Jon and I hit it off, leading us to become business partners and start Short Term Sage. Through our business, we’ve helped countless people begin their short term rental journeys, and our community has grown to tens of thousands! Julian’s Story

In the beginning…

I joined the U.S. Coast Guard in 2014 to pursue my dream of saving people’s lives. However, that dream quickly changed when I was told that my dad had stage 4 lymph node cancer and he only had a year left to live. I wanted to spend more time with my family, so I put my dream of becoming a rescue swimmer aside and moved to Florida to be closer to home.

And Then…

Although I moved closer to my family, my busy work schedule kept me from seeing my dad as often as I would’ve liked to. I realized that I needed to achieve financial freedom, not only to spend more time with my family, but also to have the means to take care of them. That’s why I tried multiple businesses, such as mobile home investing, forex trading, cryptocurrencies, and even creating an app startup. I failed at all of them. My dad passed away, I became depressed, and I almost decided that I’d just have to stay in the military until eventually retiring.

And Then…

It wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows, though. I had spent all of my savings, nearly $20,000, to renovate and furnish the basement. It took 4 months and was a very stressful experience. After that, I wasn’t quite sure what the next step towards financial freedom was… until I met Jon Bell.

Resolution…

I reached out to Jon to interview him on my podcast. He was a very successful short term rental host who had scaled from 0 to 24 properties in just a year and a half, bringing in $36,000 net profit every month. He spent as little as 4 hours per week on his short term rental business, so he did all of this while also working a full-time job in IT. To say I was impressed by his accomplishments would be an understatement—I was blown away!

Jon and I lived in the same area, so we met up and eventually decided to start a podcast called Vacation Rental Machine. Through our podcast, we were able to teach people how to achieve success with short term rentals. Once we partnered together, we scaled the business from 24 properties to over 60 in just 2 years. Our properties are spread across the United States in beautiful places like D.C., Miami, Austin, Chicago, New Orleans, and more.

Jon and I really wanted to help more people get into this business, so we came up with a step-by-step guide called The Vacation Rental Machine Formula. Now I’m now able to end my service in the military to pursue my passion for serving guests and our students, inspiring others, traveling, and spending more time creating memories with my family.
